Melissa provides investor relations and strategic communications counsel to both publicly traded and privately held companies involved in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, crisis situations and management transitions, among others. She has extensive experience in the insurance and financial services industries, with broad experience in the alternative investment sector, including private equity firms and real estate investment trusts.  In her career, Melissa has worked on some of the highest profile engagements in the financial markets.

Melissa actively engages with the media, providing unparalleled media relations advice and access to her clients.  Through the firm’s broad network of journalists and broadcast producers, she has placed high profile stories for clients in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Barron’s, Fortune, Forbes, Huffington Post, the New York Post, and many others.  Her clients are regularly featured on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and the Fox Business Network.

Melissa is a former Managing Director of Kekst and Company, a leading strategic, corporate, and financial communications firm headquartered in New York City. Prior to joining Kekst, Melissa was a Director of Investor Relations at Citigroup, managing and developing external communications for Citigroup’s institutional shareholders and research analysts. She was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley, managing over $1 billion in fixed income portfolios for ultra-high net worth clients. 

Melissa holds a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College/Columbia University and an MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Sarah Roberts is a public relations and communications consultant for Kent Place Communications. In this role, Sarah creates and implements strategic communications initiatives, specializing in media relations, for corporate and non-profit clients of the firm.

As a freelance public relations professional for the last ten years, Sarah worked on a variety of small and mid-sized media and marketing campaigns, as well as large events across the country. Through this work, she honed her expertise in writing and editing various materials, including talking points, organizational announcements, press releases, social media messages, website content and media outreach. 

Prior to her freelance work, Sarah was the communications director for the Center for a New American Dream, an environmental nonprofit in Washington, DC.  In this role, she was responsible for all public relations and marketing initiatives to raise environmental awareness.  Her focus was on media relations, social media marketing and helping to facilitate grassroots campaigns among their growing member base.  She was also well-versed in training both members and the Center's Director for all types of media interviews. 

Prior to joining the Center for a New American Dream, Sarah spent five years at ICF International, a global consulting services company with over 5,000 specialized experts. As a communications senior associate she managed government clients to help them achieve their communications goals. 

Sarah holds a B.A. in Political Science from High Point University.
